Up and Over the Rockies 2015

On Saturday, June 20th Dad and I are embarking on our next bicycling adventure. It's been 6 years, far too long, and we're excited to begin.

We're excited, but no where near ready yet. Turns out that working full time and training for a bike tour doesn't leave much time to actually prepare for said tour. Good thing we have 4 days, and the school year is out so I at least have some free time. Summer, the time when all other gainfully employed individuals wish they were teachers!

The details:
Dad and I will be riding from Spokane, Washington to Banff, Canada. We are making our own way to Sandpoint, Idaho from Spokane, and then joining the Adventure Cycling routes. We'll be on the Northern Tier route and then the Great Parks route 2 and 1. The trip will be roughly 500 miles.

Jim McCain will be joining us with his support vehicle. Not to be confused with Jim McClellan, this Jim lacks a motor home and 2 small dogs :) That means we'll be camping part of the time and staying in hotels part of the time. It'll add a new element of adventure, that's for sure. I'm not a camper.

We'll be meeting Mom and my grandparents in Banff for a brief vacation.

I have a new touring bike, a Trek 520. Dad will still be on his beloved Co-Motion.

And here we go...
