So this is a big year. I'm graduating from college (great timing, isn't it) and my dad's turning 50. These life events require some sort of recognition, so in commemoration we're heading out on a big bicycle trip starting in Eugene, and going up and over the Rocky Mountains to Wyoming. Approximately 1300 miles in 3 weeks. Most people think we're crazy, and this isn't exactly their first choice for a celebratory trip, but Dad and I have spent years talking about a cross country trip. We don't have time to go east to west, so instead we're doing west to Wyoming. It'll be difficult and probably painful at times, but it'll be exciting and memorable as well. Dad's friend Jim will be accompanying us with his mini-motor home and 2 of his 5 dogs, so at least we won't have to pedal our stuff over the passes. We aren't that crazy.
We're leaving in June for our trip, but we thought we'd start this blog now as an opportunity to give training updates and express pre-trip jitters and or excitement. Mostly it's for us, but for those of you who want to read, enjoy.
